Living Voices is an educational theatre company that combines dynamic performance with archival photos and film to bring life to history. It will receive the 2017 (Washington) Governor's Arts Award for Education later this year.

Living Voices will present two fascinating programs at WSU in October.

7:30 p.m. at Jones Theatre, Daggy Hall

The New American follows an Irish immigrant's journey from the turmoil of the old country to the promise of America in 1910. As she endures the storms of a transatlantic steamship voyage, the chaos and indignities of immigrant processing at Ellis Island, and the hazardous working conditions of a Manhattan sweatshop, we learn what American liberty and opportunity mean to people around the world.

Drawn by the promise of riches and a new life, one young woman joins a worldwide stampede for Alaskan gold in the last grand adventure of the nineteenth century.

WSU student tickets require valid ID and may be picked up in advance only at Beasley Coliseum. Student tickets will be available at the door on a space-available basis.
