DANÚ
St. Patrick's Day Celebration

Wednesday, March 1, 2017
7:30 p.m. @ Jones Theatre at Daggy Hall

With members from Counties Waterford, Cork, Dublin, and Donegal, Danú is one of today's leading traditional Irish ensembles. Their performances take audiences on a musical journey to their native Ireland, offering a moving and memorable concert experience.

". . . that vibrant mix of instrumental virtuosity, energy, and empathy that defines great ensembles." —Washington Post

Over the past two decades, Danú's virtuosic musicians on flute, tin whistle, fiddle, button accordion, bouzouki, and vocals (Irish and English) have performed around the globe and recorded seven critically acclaimed albums. Their standing-room-only concerts throughout Ireland are true events, featuring high-energy performances and a glorious mix of ancient Irish music and new repertoire.

". . . a compellingly original, strikingly contemporary view of traditional Celtic sounds." —L.A. Times

Winners of numerous awards from the BBC and Irish Music Magazine, Danú has toured throughout Europe, the Middle East, and North America with stops at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles and Symphony Space in New York City. Live performances are often broadcast on NPR, the CBC, and the BBC, and their live DVD, One Night Stand, was filmed at Vicar St. Dublin.
